IBPS PO Prelims Preparation Plan 2023

If you are preparing for the IBPS PO examination then you have two months time to prepare adequately. The examination is extremely competitive in nature and one has to refer to a tailored preparation plan to crack the exam with high marks.

  1. Understand the IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern and Syllabus

The first step in any preparation plan is to thoroughly understand the exam pattern and syllabus. The IBPS PO Prelims exam comprises 100 objective-type questions, with 35 questions each from the English Language and Reasoning Ability sections, and 30 questions from Quantitative Aptitude. Candidates must familiarise themselves with the topics covered in each section to create a targeted study plan.

  1. Create a Realistic IBPS PO Study Schedule

Devise a well-structured study schedule that offers ample timing for all three sections and allocates sufficient time for each topic. Divide your study hours evenly across the subjects, keeping in mind your strengths and weaknesses. Include short breaks in your study schedule to avoid burnout and maintain focus.

  1. Strengthen Conceptual Understanding for IBPS PO Exam
  • English Language: Work on enhancing your grammar, vocabulary, and comprehension skills. Practice reading newspapers, articles, and books to improve your comprehension and speed.
  • Quantitative Aptitude: Build a strong foundation in basic arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data interpretation. Focus on understanding concepts and practice a variety of numerical problems.
  • Reasoning Ability: Enhance your logical reasoning, analytical, and critical thinking skills. Practice puzzles, seating arrangements, and syllogisms to sharpen your problem-solving abilities.
  1. Utilise Quality Study Material

Select the best study materials and reference IBPS PO books for each subject. You should go for standard books and reliable online resources to cover the syllabus on time. You can also refer to online resources, previous year’s question papers, and mock tests are valuable tools for comprehensive preparation.

  1. Practice Regularly with Mock Tests

IBPS PO Mock tests are indispensable in your preparation journey. Take regular mock tests to simulate the real exam environment and assess your progress. Analyse your performance in each mock test, identify weak areas, and work on improving them.

  1. Focus on Time Management

Time management is a critical aspect of clearing the IBPS PO Prelims exam. This is because only twenty minutes are assigned for each subject. Hence, aspirants must develop efficient strategies to tackle each section within the allocated time. Improve your speed and accuracy to qualify for the exam easily.

  1. Review Your Performance

Make a habit of thoroughly analysing your performance after completing each mock test. Identify the types of questions wherein you are making mistakes and mark these topics. Reviewing your performance will help you learn from your errors and avoid repeating them in the actual exam.

Preparing for the IBPS PO Preliminary exam requires a disciplined and focused approach. By understanding the exam pattern, creating a realistic study schedule, and strengthening conceptual understanding, candidates can crack the exam with high marks.
